1,500 Health Ministry Volunteers Serve Pilgrims

The Ministry of Health said that some 1,500 volunteers are present at all holy sites to serve pilgrims. The ministry’s Health Volunteer Centre has recruited these volunteers through the “Sawed Seha” Program; they provide health services to pilgrims during the 1444 AH Hajj season.

According to the ministry, volunteers work in: ambulance services, medical tests, primary care and medical services in all health centers and hospitals in four main cities: Makkah and its holy sites, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif. They also have a major role in Arafat where, for the fifth year, the Health Volunteer Center is responsible for organizing and supervising volunteers offering their services in the field of health at the ministry.

The “Sawed Seha” Program was first launched in 1439 AH to attract professional volunteers from among health practitioners who would carry out therapeutic and preventive tasks to contribute to the wellbeing of pilgrims.
