His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent on Saturday a cable of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic on the occasion of his country’s national day.

Kuwait oil price up to USD 87.56 pb

The price of Kuwaiti oil went up 17 cents to USD 87.56 pb on Friday, compared to USD 87.39 pb the day before, said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Saturday.

On a global scale, the price of the Brent crude futures’ contracts went down 37 cents to USD 85.03 pb, as did the West Texas Intermediate crude, down 41 cents to USD 82.21 pb.

Municipalities Minister highlights Bahrain Society of Engineers efforts


Manama, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, met with Dr. Raida Al Alawi, President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers, as part of his visit to the society’s headquarters.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of Municipalities Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, was present.

During the meeting, the minister emphasised the society’s role in contributing to the Kingdom’s development. He highlighted the joint projects held between the ministry and the society.

Al Mubarak emphasised the society’s efforts to develop the skills of Bahraini engineering graduates.

The meeting also reviewed current and future joint projects and files of common interests.

For her part, Dr. Al Alawi highlighted the training initiatives offered by the society’s training centre, an accredited local and international training facility, as part of the commitment to advance the Kingdom’s engineering sector.

The meeting discussed means of enhancing cooperation and benefiting from educational and training opportunities offered by Erasmus+ for Bahraini youth at universities and institutes in the EU.

The undersecretary commended Dr. Al Jowder’s efforts in strengthening cooperation between the ministry and the programme to enhance youth skills in various domains. He emphasised the ministry’s commitment to providing training and educational opportunities for Bahraini youth, in cooperation with various sectors.

NSSA participates in Space Loves AI seminar


Manama, The National Space Science Agency (NSSA), participated in the ‘Space Loves AI’ seminar, organised by Redwire Space.

The seminar underscored the important role of artificial intelligence (AI) in improving security for space and technology. It also highlighted the increasing overlap between space technology and AI.

In his remarks, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of NSSA, said that the agency’s participation in the seminar represents the Kingdom’s commitment to utilising AI technology in the space sector and conducting various scientific research. This also includes designing several space payloads, such as the payloads for Al Munthir satellite.

The experts who participated in this seminar demonstrated how intelligent vision systems, resilient structures, secure communications systems, launch subsystems, and proven real-time processors can respond to growing global security threats, Al Aseeri said.
