Gemayel noted that the disruption caused by the lack of quorum has postponed essential discussions, including budget approval. He also clarified that no second Cabinet session was planned for today, as decisions depend on ongoing consultations by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Gemayel further emphasized that despite some progress with temporary social assistance, inflation continued to erode salaries, and the government remained committed to addressing these issues through the state budget.

Arab League urges Denmark to recognize Palestinian state

Arab League Secretary General Ahmad AbulGheit urged Monday that Denmark follows the steps of other European countries and recognize the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

During their meeting in Cairo, AbulGheit emphasized to Lars Rasmussen, the Danish Foreign Minister, that such recognition will pave the way to establishing the two-state solution, the Arab League said in a statement.

The two officials also discussed means to elevate bilateral relations between the two nations in areas of mutual interest, the statement continued.

AbulGheit expressed his gratitude, the statement said, for Denmark’s consistent support of the Palestinian cause and voiced his confidence that Denmark will advocate for peace and security in the Arab region, especially as it now serves as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Rasmussen, on his part, reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting Arab related issues, noting that one of Denmark’s key foreign policy goals is to enhance ties with
Arab nations across various fields.

Raad: Support for Gaza defends human values across the region

During a memorial event on Tuesday at the Qaim Complex in the southern suburb of Beirut, MP Mohammad Raad, head of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, emphasized that supporting Gaza was crucial for upholding human values globally.

“Our efforts are not just for Gaza but for humanity across Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, and beyond,” Raad stated.

Raad criticized Israel’s failure to achieve its objectives in Gaza, noting that the enemy is now “lost and unable to initiate a conflict with the resistance.” He argued that Israel’s inability to establish a sustainable alternative in Gaza has led to internal disarray and external isolation. Despite its military incursions, Raad said that Israel remains ineffective and disoriented, incapable of confronting the resistance effectively.

The lawmaker further argued that opening a support front in Lebanon was a preemptive measure to protect against potential Israeli aggression.

Moreover, Raad criticized the Israeli aims in Gaza, suggesting they intend to disma
ntle resistance, occupy further territories, and threaten neighboring regions.

‘Despite its advances, Israel has failed to achieve its goals or provide a viable alternative in Gaza, showing its internal and external vulnerabilities,’ Raad added, concluding with a hopeful message that “we will prevail for the sake of human values” while the enemy remains defeated.
