Manga Productions Partners with STC Play to Release Game Inspired by Saudi Anime Series ‘Asateer – Future’s Folktales’

Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), launched the game “Asateer – Future’s Folktales’ in collaboration with STC Play, the gaming and Esports division of STC Group, to release the game in the Middle East and North Africa, while Manga Productions will release the game worldwide. The game will also be available to players on the App Store, Google Play Store, and App Gallery.

Talented Saudis contributed to the game’s development, inspired by the Saudi anime series “Future’s Folktales”. The story is based on tales inspired by the Arabian Peninsula and includes many characters and five unique worlds, including “Futuristic Riyadh”.

The game is available on mobile phones and fully supports Arabic, English, and Japanese. It includes daily challenges and exciting conversations with the characters in a fun and easy-to-understand style, which prompted many to download it in the beta launch stage. The number of downloads exceeded 278,000 worldwide.

Kuwait MoI launches temporary residency service via Sahel App

The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the launch of a new electronic service under the (Residency Services) section for issuing temporary residency permits under Articles 20 and 22, accessible through the unified government e-services app, Sahel.

According to a press release from the General Directorate of Security Relations and Media, this service would allow sponsors to receive a notification containing the electronic residency sticker, eliminating the need for visits to the Residency Affairs sector to print the sticker.

The Ministry highlighted that this initiative was part of ongoing efforts by the General Department of Residency Affairs and the General Directorate of Information Systems to simplify procedures and provide more convenience to both citizens and residents.

Israeli occupation strike on southern Lebanon kills one individual, injures others

An individual was killed and two others were injured during an Israeli occupation airstrike on southern Lebanon, said a media source on Tuesday.

According to the National News Agency (NNA), citing the Health Ministry’s center for health emergency, the casualties from the attack were transferred from an area in western Beqaa.

The southern Lebanese borders has been witnessing since October 7, 2023 numerous resistance and Israeli occupation military confrontations.

Environmental Protection and Addressing Climate Change are Essential Parts of GCC Countries’ Visions, Albudaiwi Says

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi affirmed that environmental protection and addressing the impacts of climate change have become essential components of GCC countries’ national visions.

During his speech at the 26th meeting of the ministers responsible for environmental affairs in the GCC, held here and chaired by Qatar’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr Abdullah Al Subaie, Albudaiwi added that the GCC countries strive to enhance environmental policies, promote renewable energy reliance, and reduce carbon emissions to achieve a balance between development and environmental protection.

“On the international front, cooperation to address climate change and other environmental challenges has become essential among all countries, with GCC countries actively contributing to global cooperation and providing solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change while preserving the environment,” he stated.

He also congratulated the UAE on hosting the COP28 UN C
limate Change Conference and conveyed his best wishes for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s hosting the upcoming 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, which is scheduled for December.

Kuwaiti charity opens Mosque, Quran center in Kyrgyzstan

Kuwait’s Al-Safa Charity and Humanitarian Society opened on Tuesday a mosque and Quran center in a town located in Kara-Balta, northern Kyrgyzstan, as part of its 16th charity campaign in the eastern central Asian country.

Secretary of Al-Safa charity Abdullah Al-Shayee told KUNA that Al-Safa had opened the 144 square meters mosque with a capacity to hold 200 worshipers, adding that a 35-square meters Quran center was also established including classrooms.

The educational classrooms within the center would be able to host 12 students, serving in the town with the population of 900 people.

He revealed that a water network was recently erected in a town in Chuy region at an area of 2,500 square meters benefiting 1,800 individuals.

Another similar network is also opened in the region of Osh, he added.

Al-Safa charity campaign was launched last Sunday in Kyrgyzstan and would continue until September 13.

Commerce Minister Attends Buraidah Dates Carnival

Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Kassabi yesterday attended Buraidah Dates Carnival in Qassim, which is being held by the National Center for Palms and Dates.

Al-Kassabi was briefed on the buying and selling operations, the auctions, the movement of vehicles at the auctions, the pavilions of various government and private agencies, and the events offered to visitors.

He lauded this carnival with significant contribution to the economy, and the efforts made to ensure its success and fulfill the aspirations of consumers and investors in the palm sector.

He also commended the support Qassim Governor Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud lent the carnival.

Kuwait Food Bank offers assistance to 2,050 families in country

The Kuwait Food Bank charity said on Tuesday that it offered assistance to 2,050 families within Kuwait in cooperation with the Awqaf (endownment) Public Foundation.

Kuwait Food Bank’s Chairman Meshal Al-Ansari told KUNA that the assistance offered consisted of two KD 50-coupons enabling each family to secure its need of foodstuff.

The database of the bank continues to be updated to cover the need of most families in Kuwait, he affirmed, revealing that the charity has a competent team able to receive those in need as well as the www.kuwaitfoodbank.org website, which also enables individuals and groups to seek assistance.

Royal Commission for AlUla Signs Partnership with British National Archives

The Royal Commission for AlUla has signed a partnership agreement with the National Archives of Britain, aimed at strengthening cooperation and facilitating joint research in fields such as archiving, digitization, and cultural preservation.

Kuwaiti oil price down USD 1.09 to USD 73.55 pb

The price of Kuwaiti oil went down by USD 1.09 to USD 73.55 per barrel on Monday in contrast with USD 74.64 pb last Friday, said the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Tuesday.

The prices of the Brent crude and the West Texas Intermediate went up each by 78 cents and USD 1.04 reach, to settle both at USD 71.84 per barrel and USD 68.71 pb.
