24 injured Syrian Army and supporting forces personnel arrive in Russia for further treatment

Moscow- 24 injured personnel of the Syrian Arab Army and the supporting forces, who have been wounded in the military operations arrived Wednesday in Russia to have surgeries at St. Petersburg Medical center affiliated to the Russian Military Medical Academy and to receive multidisciplinary treatments in orthopedic, neurological, ophthalmic, maxillary and other general surgery.

This step comes in the framework of the continued cooperation between the Syrian and Russian sides in the military and medical fields, upon a request by the Syrian Defense Ministry to the Russian Ministry of Defense, to follow up on treatment of dozens of war-wounded cases who were seriously wounded and received treatment in the Syrian military hospitals, and then to complete this treatment at the Russian Military Medical Centers.

It is noteworthy that the cooperation and sending the wounded to Russia will continue as the Russian side will send medical assessment and diagnosis teams to determine the difficult and critical cases and to receive more wounded cases annually.
