4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Tarapacá, Chile

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Chilean province of Tarapacá today, just hours after a 5.1-magnitude quake shook the area southeast of Easter Island in western Chile.

The epicenter of the latest quake was located 37 kilometers from the city of La Tirana, in Tarapacá province, at a depth of 101.1 kilometers, according to the US Geological Survey.

There have been no reports of damage or casualties so far.
