911 Bahrainis employed in health sector during first half of 2023, Minister of Labor

Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, has stated that the development of the economic, industrial and commercial sectors in Bahrain has contributed to generating more job promising opportunities for the citizens in the private sector, as part of the National Labour Market Plan (2023-2026).

In this regard, he announced that the health sector had outperformed all sectors regarding employment rates during the first half of 2023 in Bahrain.

He unveiled that as many as 911 citizens had been employed in various health and medical institutions, as a result of to the government’s efforts in attracting more investments in the health sector, which is creating more opportunities for that citizens.

He indicated that the government has launched several initiatives that have contributed to increasing the employment rate of Bahraini doctors and supporting their professional level.

The initiatives include supporting the wages of new doctors and dentists for three years, raising the salary range for working doctors and dentists to BD 800 – BD 1,000, providing incentives to private hospitals and medical centres that achieve a Bahrainisation rate of 25%, and introducing a programme to improve the wages of Bahraini doctors who were previously employed in the private sector, he said.

He added that Tamkeen pays the salary increase of BD 200 to each newly employed doctor for a year, and offers a rehabilitation programme to train private sector doctors in the government sector while continuing to work in the private sector.
