A girl was killed in the explosion of a mine in eastern Aleppo governorate on June 15

A seven-year-old girl, Ghufran Hanafi from Qeirata village east of Aleppo governorate, was killed and two other girls were wounded by the explosion of a landmine planted by unknown parties while they were gathering caper plant in the vicinity of the village on June 15, 2022. The area is under the control of Syrian National Army.

SNHR is still trying to reach witnesses of that incident to get more details.

We demand that the controlling regime forces bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and that they determine the locations of mines planted there and remove them.

We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries as a result of mine explosions; these munitions will continue to constitute a severe threat to the population of these areas in years to come, especially to children.
