A protest in Los Angeles calls for lifting blockade imposed on Syria

Los Angeles, SANA- A number of Syrian and Arab community members have staged a protest in Los Angeles city, calling for lifting the embargo and all unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.

The event was held in front of the Federal Building in Los Angeles, and it was attended by a number of members of the Arab community and solidarity activists from American anti-war organizations.

“The Arab committee for the Defense of Syria has organized this protest to denounce the unjust blockade imposed on Syria by the US administration and its European allies, especially after the devastating earthquake that hit the country.”, Fatima Attia, one of the Committee’s founders, told SANA.

Attia added “we also called for the withdrawal of the US occupation forces that are illegitimately positioned in many parts of Syrian territory, in addition to stopping the operations of plundering the Syrian oil and wheat.”

The participants in the protest raised the Syrian flag and banners demanding immediate lifting of blockade and the coercive measures imposed on Syria.
