Arab League Secretary General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, wished Lebanon all prosperity, disclosing that he will pay a visit to Beirut immediately after the formation of the government.

Abou Gheir’s fresh words came on Wednesday at the sidelines of the meeting of the Union of Arab Radio stations in Tunisia, whereby he announced that two consecutive meetings will be taking place, the first an extraordinary meeting tomorrow at the level of Arab countries’ permanent delegates, to be followed by another meeting called forth by Kuwait on December 19th at the ministerial level.

Aboul Gheit indicated that the holding of the two meetings signals the profound Arab concern for the developments of events in Syria, anticipating that the Council shall take clear positions calling for immediate cease fire and allowing civilians to enjoy a status of peace.

On the other hand, Abou Gheit categorically deplored the recent Cairo bombings, voicing utter rejection of violence.
