Hama: The activities of the ‘Hama is Beating Again’ carnival kicked off Sunday in Hama as the first official announcement of the start of the comprehensive field service campaign to restore and rehabilitate the city’s facilities. This event was organized jointly by the province, civil society organizations, and service agencies.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, activities included organizing a massive march that included dozens of vehicles and engineering machinery participating in the campaign, in addition to hundreds of volunteers from the city’s residents who carried the flag of the Syrian revolution as a symbol of the sacrifices and steadfastness of the people.
Hama Governor Abdul Rahman al-Sahyan stated that the carnival is an official announcement of the launch of the campaign’s field work on the ground. The campaign’s first phase includes maintenance, restoration, and rehabilitation operations in sanitation, health, and electricity facilities, and along the Orontes River in Hama city, in addition to rehabilitating the affected areas.
Dozens of Hama residents participated in the carnival, including the elderly Omar Baghdadi, 85, who expressed his joy, saying: ‘This is the first time in years that I feel that hope is returning to our city, which we will rebuild with our own hands.’
