AGU President meets CEO of Saudi EXIM, Director General of SFD

Manama, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), received Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Khalab, CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM Bank), and Bandar bin Abdullah Al Obaid, Director General of the Arab States Operations Department at the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).

The meeting discussed the importance of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City project and its impact on the healthcare sector in the Kingdom. The project aims to provide medical services that meet international standards and offer advanced training opportunities for students at AGU.

This initiative is a significant collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, funded by a SAR one billion grant from the Saudi government to establish a medical city in Bahrain affiliated with AGU. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has allocated a plot of land measuring one million square metres for this major project.

They reviewed the project’s current status, assessing its progress, identifying key ch
allenges, and discussing strategies to address these issues. They reaffirmed their commitment to overcoming any obstacles to support the project and ensure its completion to the highest quality standards.

Dr. Al Fuhaid thanked the Saudi EXIM Bank and SFD for their consistent support, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role in promoting joint Gulf development initiatives and strengthening ties among the GCC states.
