The United Arab Emirates Embassy announced in a statement issued this Thursday that the UAE Back to School Project continues to distribute bags and stationery supplies to the Lebanese public schools which were selected in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Learning, with funding from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.

The project announced by UAE Ambassador Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi “serves the neediest schools which, in turn, provide access to education to a large number of Lebanese students as well as displaced Syrians.”

In this context, Ambassador Al-Shamsi said “We are carrying out this campaign because of the meanings of solidarity with and support for the Lebanese as well as the Syrian brothers.”

“Our plan is to extend future generations with the weapon of knowledge as the most effective means to combat extremism and terrorism,” he said.
