Aleppo students come first at World Championship of Mental Calculation

Three students from Aleppo have won the first three places at the Mental Calculation World Cup held remotely in mid August in Germany, sponsored by the International Union for Sorbon and Mental Mathematics (IUSM) ,with the participation of 355 children from 15 foreign states and 5 Arab countries.

The Director delegated by Aleppo Education Directorate to Science City School in Aleppo ,Hassan Mustafa, told SANA that in cooperation between the students’ families and the education stuff in the school, the students managed to gain the first places for the second time successively at the Arab Mental Championship been held in Egypt and the Mental Calculation World Cup held in Germany , stressing the importance of the mental calculation in promoting the scientific skills and enhancing their self- confidence in their cognitive skills.

Camera SANA visited one of the school classes and was briefed on the mechanism of training the children as teacher of the mental calculation ,Ghadeer Khazna, said that 9 students participated in the European Championship. Students Abdul latif Jarrah of the seventh grade and each of Mohyei al-Din Atar and Massa Haj Mohammed of the sixth grade came first and second.
