President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, told the British Supreme Adviser for Defense for Middle Eastern Affairs, General Sir John Lorimer, that the economic and financial crisis which Lebanon is currently suffering from, is subject to treatment for limiting its repercussions, pointing out that the International Monetary Fund will provide its technical expertise in the adopted plan for the treatment.

The meeting was held at Baabda Palace, and attended by Former Minister, Salim Jreisatti, and British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling. President Aoun stressed that The turbulent conditions witnessed by a number of Middle Eastern countries in general and Syria in particular, have negatively affected the Lebanese situation, pointing out that We will work to reduce repercussions in Lebanon.

The President also thanked the British Government for supporting the Lebanese Army and ISF, whether in building towers or equipping and training officers through courses in Britain, or the introduction of a new visual surveillance system by cameras and establishing model investigation rooms.

Lorimer had conveyed to President Aoun that the UK continues support for Lebanon, especially the Army and ISF, and hoped that Lebanon would be able to overcome the difficult economic conditions.
