Arab Parliamentary Union condemns aggressive practices of Turkish regime against Syria

Damascus, The Arab Parliamentary Union condemned the continued aggressive practices of Turkey’s regime against Syria, particularly cutting off water in Hasaka province.

“The Arab Parliamentary Union expresses its deep concern over the repeated aggressive Turkish practices against the brotherly Syrian people in the neighboring areas of Turkey, especially the repeated practices of cutting off drinking water in Hasaka province and its villages, which suffer exceptional health conditions,” The Union said in a statement on Saturday.

The statement also condemned the inhumane act with its catastrophic and health consequences as a result of depriving more than one million civilians from their legitimate and human right to get healthy drinking water.It called on the Turkish regime to re-pump water in Alouk station and to put an end to those actions which are considered as violation of human rights and the principles of international humanitarian law.

The statement called on the international community to intervene immediately to end this human catastrophe, demanding the Turkish regime to act according to the 4th Geneva Convention and the provisions of international human rights law.
