Lebanese Army Command – Orientation Directorate issued a communiqué on Sunday, in which it indicated that “on June 13, 2021, a navy patrol unit intercepted a boat that was spotted at a distance of 5.5 nautical miles off the coast of Tripoli, while attempting to smuggle 10 people of Syrian nationality, in addition to one Lebanese, via Lebanon’s territorial waters.”

“The detainees were handed over to the concerned authorities, as investigations were initiated into the incident,” the communiqué added.
