Army units respond to terrorists’ attacks on residential neighborhoods, army posts in Daraa City

The Syrian Arab Army units have responded to the repeated attacks launched by terrorist groups with rocket and mortar shells on residential neighborhoods and army posts in Daraa City, targeting with concentrated strikes the mortar and rocket shells launch pads.

SANA’s reporter in Daraa said that the army units deployed in the vicinity of Daraa al-Balad neighborhood began today to respond to the attacks of terrorists positioned in the neighborhood after these groups escalated their attacks with rocket and mortar shells, machine guns and snipers on residential neighborhoods and army checkpoints, noting that the response operations included concentrated strikes through artillery and rocket launchers on the points from which terrorists’ shells are launched.

The reporter pointed out that terrorist groups have intensified their attacks on residential neighborhoods over the past few days, with the aim of hindering any efforts for reaching a peaceful solution and ending the control of terrorists over the fate of the locals whom they hold as human shields.

One of the personnel of the Internal Security Forces was martyred and two others were wounded yesterday by a rocket shell fired by terrorist groups positioned in Daraa al-Balad area.

The remnants of terrorist groups in some areas of Daraa are still working to hinder all efforts made by the state to consolidate security and stability across the province and to end the control of terrorists on Daraa al-Balad neighborhood and the al-Sad Road.
