Association of Malaysian Scholars: Pilgrims Pleased with Makkah Route Initiative

Secretary General of the Association of Malaysian Scholars Ahmad Fazrin Yahaya said that Malaysia was honored to be one of the first countries to implement the Makkah Route Initiative, and that pilgrims welcomed the initiative that has facilitated their travel procedures.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the secretary general thanked the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, and said that this initiative, which made it easy for pilgrims to carry out all procedures needed, from their arrival at Kuala Lumpur Airport until their departure to Makkah and Madinah, should continue as it is of great benefit to the pilgrims.

The Makkah Route Initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Interior as part of the Pilgrim Experience Program of the Saudi Vision 2030. The program is implemented in seven countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkiye and Côte d’Ivoire, for the year 1444 Hijri.
