The Austrian cabinet, on Wednesday, approved a bill of a 5-million-euro (5.7 million U.S. dollar) aid package for Syria, and several African countries, Foreign Minister, Sebastian Kurz, said, in a press release.

The aid package is aimed at supporting civilians in war-torn Syria, and help ease drought and famine in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda.

The fund is expected to provide assistance to about 780,000 people, and stem the pressure caused by the affected people, who want to migrate elsewhere, Kurz said.–
