Austrian President, Alexander Van Der Bellen, and his wife Doris Schmidauer, has visited the Syrian refugee camp in the Beqai town of Hosh al-Rafqa near Hosh Nabi town.

The camp has around 50 tents.

President Der Bellen inspected several camp tents, having a closer look at the present conditions of refugees and families with respect to their daily ordeal.

Speaking in the wake of the visit, Der Bellen said he had firsthand look at the fine work undertaken by both the Lebanese and Austrian Red Cross, hoping that the Syrian refugees would return to their homeland soon.

Der Bellen hailed the work undertaken by the Lebanese and Austrian Red Cross in mainly securing the bare essentials needed by refugees.
