Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil met Wednesday with British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, who congratulated his host on the formation of the new government, and handed him a letter from his British counterpart Jeremy Hunt.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Rampling indicated that he held very positive talks with Minister Bassil, welcoming the Lebanese government’s commitment to making the required economic reforms.

The Ambassador maintained that the UK will continue supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability.

He also highlighted keenness on the government’s abidance by the dissociation policy and the international resolutions.

Bassil later met with Secretary General of the Higher Lebanese-Syrian Council, Nasri Khoury.

He also received Jordanian Ambassador Nabil Masarweh and Indian Ambassador Sanjiv Arora respectively.
