Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil held Wednesday a series of talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he met with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Ali al-Hakim, over an array of common interests and affairs between Lebanon and Iraq.

The pair discussed the opening of crossings between Iraq and Syria, to facilitate the passage of Lebanese goods.

They also took up the reoperation of Tripoli’s oil refinery and the rehabilitation of the oil pipeline between Lebanon and Iraq.

Bassil also held talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, and Finland’s Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari, with whom he discussed bilateral cooperation at the levels of trade and tourism.
