Bassil: We seek law implementation not Syrians’ coercive deportation

Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, on Tuesday underscored that his party only sought the implementation of the law and not the coercive deportation of the displaced Syrians.

“The refugee dossier is exacerbating the economic crisis; Lebanon’s economy cannot stand the presence of two million people besides the Lebanese,” Bassil told reporters following the Strong Lebanon parliamentary bloc’s weekly meeting at Tayyar Center, Sin-el-Fil.

“We have never asked for the coercive deportation of the Syrian people but for the application of the law,” he said.
