House Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday met at Ein Tineh residence with the head of the Syrian National Social Party, Minister Ali Qanso, with talks between the pair reportedly touching on the current situation, notably with respect to the ongoing contacts to agree on a vote law system.

On emerging, Minister Qanso hailed the tireless efforts by Speaker Berri to secure the realization of an agreement over an election law, hoping that a positive outcome would be realized in the few coming days.

Qanso voiced support to a vote law system based on proportionality as the best means to secure unity amongst the Lebanese and ensure correct and fair representation.

On the other hand, Berri met with a delegation of the Banks Association, led by its President Joseph Torbey, who briefed the Speaker on the outcome of their recent visit to the United States.

Former Minister Khaled Qabbani also visited Berri today at Ein Tineh residence.
