House Speaker Nabih Berri received Saturday morning a congratulatory cable from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in response to his letter on the anniversary of the “October War” victory.

“I appreciate your sincere emotions for seeing Syria enjoying security, stability and victory over every oppressive enemy,” Assad said in his cable to Berri.
