The Syrian national team player, weightlifter Ahmed al-Shamaa, won the bronze medal at the Youth World Championship-2023, which is being held in Albania.

The player, Muhammad Al-Kateb, gained the 6th place in the same tournament in the 81 kg weight competition, and scored in the snatch lift of 128 kg and in the jerk lift of 161 kg, with a group that reached 289 kg, which is a new Syrian number for the youth category.
