Chief of the General Staff inspects army units operating in Palmyra

Damascus – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub carried out a field tour during which he inspected one of the army formations operating in Palmyra and its countryside.

Gen. Ayoub was briefed by field commanders on the plans for upcoming combat operations against ISIS, and he in turn stressed the need for cooperation and coordination among different divisions and units to crush terrorists quickly and decisively.
