CHINESE SPECIAL ENVOY FOR SYRIAN AFFAIRS TO TRAVEL TO IRAN
TEHRAN� Chinese Special Envoy for Syrian crisis Xie Xiaoyan is to travel to Tehran on February 21, 2017 to talk with senior Iranian officials.
He already talked with former deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on May 2016.
Determination outlook for Syria’s future, compiling constitution and electing the president are related to the Syrian people intention, he had discussed in that meeting.
He also said that no foreign power should interfere in the domestic affairs and Syrians should take decision by themselves.
In the meeting, the two sides had agreed the necessity for increasing common consultations and exchanging views concerning Syria.
So far, two rounds of Syria peace talks have been held in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, and a relatively sustainable ceasefire, except for two groups of al-Nasr and Daesh, have been established in the country.
The main members of Astana peace talks are Iran, Russia, Turkey, Syria and a number of Syrian armed oppositions and in recent meeting, representatives from the US and Jordan were present as well.
