Marwan al-Abli, aged 37, a bus driver from Ein al-Qadi, south of Quneitra governorate, was shot dead on Oct 16, 2022 by gunmen whom we have so far been unable to identify, in Ein Zakir in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate, which is controlled by Syrian regime forces.

The SNHR is still trying to reach witnesses to the incident to obtain more details.

We condemn all killings that target civilians, and we call on the controlling force to take responsibility for protecting civilians in areas under their control and to carry out investigations into such killings and reveal their findings to the public. There will be no stability in Syria without a real political transition towards democracy within a specific timetable.
