Delegation of Riyadh Municipality Meets with ISOCARP World Planning Congress in Italy’s Siena


A delegation from the Riyadh Municipality met with representatives of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) at the World Planning Congress to exchange knowledge and discuss successful urban planning experiences and specialized studies. The aim was to enhance expertise in the development of projects in Riyadh, explore global opportunities in smart cities, and highlight the Municipality’s development initiatives for residents and visitors.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 60th ISOCARP Congress, which brings together experts, specialists, and researchers to share experiences in integrated urban planning. The event focuses on building future cities that align with technological advancements, artificial intelligence, and the evolving needs of human life, with an emphasis on humanizing cities.

Founded in 1965, ISOCARP aims to create comprehensive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities. It is a global network of over 700 specialists, connecting prominent designers from
more than 90 countries. The 60th anniversary of the ISOCARP conferences is a significant milestone, featuring numerous events across the globe, covering topics related to the shift from traditional urban design to advanced planning issues of the future.

The meeting aligns with the Riyadh Municipality’s strategy for managing the city as a smart, safe, sustainable, and innovative metropolis, contributing to raising the quality of life and positioning Riyadh as a competitive environment across environmental, urban, and public health domains.
