Deputy Premier inaugurates Khalifa Town Water Distribution Station

Manama, Marking the kingdom’s celebrations of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the Khalifa Town Water Distribution Station.

Addressing the ceremony, attended by His Highness the Southern Governor and representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), led by Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al Marshad, SFD Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy Premier affirmed that since HM the King’s Accession to the Throne, the electricity and water sector has flourished, as electricity and water networks cover all governorates, and are capable of meeting present and future needs.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla affirmed that the remarkable strides made by the electricity and water sector in the kingdom reflect the accelerated development process witnessed by the kingdom as a result of the unwavering keenness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister
, to provide integrated government services that achieve the requirements of decent living for the citizens.

He stressed that the kingdom will continue implementing its pioneering development plans to ensure that its robust infrastructure meets its housing, industrial, trade and investment needs.

He highlighted the concerted efforts of all service ministries and entities to meet the growing needs of the citizens and residents, through the development projects included in the Government Plan 2023-2026.

The Deputy Premier paid tribute to Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) President, and all EWA affiliates for the tremendous efforts they are making to provide electricity and water services to everyone in Bahrain.

EWA President expressed thanks and gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for opening the Khalifa Town Water Distribution Station, praising his constant interest in vital projects.

He indicated that the BD 13-million project, funded by the SFD, as part of the GCC De
velopment Programme, aims to provide water services to those living in Khalifa Town, which is one of the new housing towns in Bahrain.

Sultan Al Marshad lauded the strong relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, affirming the long-standing partnership between the SFD and Bahrain, which dates back to 1976.

He added that the Khalifa Town Water Distribution Station is among the SFD-funded projects, noting that the SFD has financed development projects worth about three billion US Dollars, in line with the directives of the two kingdoms’ leaderships.
