Deputy Prime Minister affirms support for universities

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, newly appointed President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU).

The deputy prime minister praised the AGU’s role in preparing and qualifying competencies of the region, and supplying the educational and health sectors with distinguished medical and academic cadres capable of keeping pace with the goals of comprehensive and sustainable development to achieve the visions of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states.

He expressed his best congratulations to Dr. Al Fuhaid on his new position as President of the University, wishing him success in performing his tasks.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah stressed the government’s keenness in supporting the AGU to continue achieving its goals and its noble humanitarian mission, based on its being one of the joint and pioneering GCC projects that contribute to providing high-quality educational and scientific research services.

He recalled the contributions of the late Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Ohaly, former President of the AGU, hailing the sincere efforts he made throughout his tenure.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the work on the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) project in the Southern Governorate, which proved the deep longstanding Bahraini-Saudi relations.

Dr. Al Fuhaid expressed his appreciation to the deputy prime minister for his support of the university, its programmes and projects over the past decades.
