Discussing the development of partnerships between the public and private sectors and a number of economic issues


The Minister of National Economy, Muhammad Al-Amour and Industry, Arafat Asfour, stressed today, Sunday, that developing the partnership between the public and private sectors lies at the heart of the government’s work, and work will be done to form an advisory council to enhance communication and cooperation mechanisms between the two ministries and the private sector.

This came during the meeting with the Coordination Council of Palestinian Private Sector Institutions, at the Ministry’s headquarters, to discuss all relevant files and ways to develop aspects of partnership and coordination between the public and private sectors to confront the challenges facing our people in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 2023.

The two ministers placed the Council on the government’s agenda, which is to stop genocide, alleviate the suffering of our people in Gaza, achieve financial stability, and develop the performance of institutions in order to achieve more productivity, transparency and accountab
ility.

They stressed that the design of programs and projects will be subject to standards that respond to the interest of the nation and enhance the development of the national economy, which is consistent with the urgent need to expand the production base in Palestine, which loses about 19 million dollars daily as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The meeting reviewed the needs and aspirations required to face the current challenges, the steps to be taken to develop the performance of the national economy, and optimal investment in international relations that would contribute to increasing national exports.

The two ministers detailed the ongoing preparations for holding a meeting of the joint Palestinian-Jordanian committee, scheduled to be held soon in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The attendees stressed the necessity of conducting a comprehensive review of aspects of the relationship with the economies of countries, the priorities that must be achieved at the current stage in partnership wi
th the private sector, and joining efforts in the movement of humanitarian aid to our people in the Gaza Strip.

The attendees stressed the need to make more efforts to simplify and facilitate services, and review the procedures and regulations for conducting economic activities.

In turn, Salem Abu Khairzan, Secretary of the Coordinating Council for Private Sector Institutions, expressed his appreciation for the government’s directions in developing aspects of partnership between the public and private sectors and working to address a number of economic issues
