Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, Higher Education Council (HEC) Board of Trustees Chairman, met poet Ali Abdullah Khalifa, the President of the International Organisation of Folk Art (IOV).

The minister praised the role played by the popular culture magazine in spreading and consolidating Bahraini folklore and heritage, as well as documenting and preserving them.

Dr. Juma stressed that educating all students about the popular and cultural heritage and promoting the Bahraini identity are among the priorities of the ministry.

He praised the poet’s rich cultural and literary career, expressing his appreciation for his efforts in cooperation with various relevant authorities to develop ways to preserve the popular heritage as an integral part of the history of Bahrain.

The two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation between the Education Ministry and the IOV through implementing programmes and activities.

Ali Abdullah Khalifa expressed his appreciation to the minister and the ministry’s employees for their role in further advancing education.
