Ankara: Turkey and Egypt reiterated their support for Syria’s unity and sovereignty, and the necessity of promoting stability and security in it.

According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty emphasized their countries’ commitment to Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in a joint statement. The statement, released after a meeting between the two ministers in Ankara, stressed the importance of ensuring that Syrian territory is not used to threaten any country.

The ministers highlighted the need for a comprehensive political process in Syria. They believe such a process would protect the interests of the Syrian people and facilitate the safe and voluntary return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
