Egypt, Czech Republic probe fostering cooperation in higher education field

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed with Czech Ambassador in Cairo Jan Volk and Rector of Charles University Professor Tomáš Zima means of promoting cooperation between Egypt and the Czech Republic in the higher education field.

The move came during their meeting on Tuesday 26/10/2021 in Cairo in the presence of Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs Ayman Ashour, and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector Ashraf el Azzazi.

During the meeting, Abdel Ghaffar emphasized Egypt’s keenness to bolster its cooperation with the Czech Republic in all fields, especially the higher education sector.

He pointed out to the possibility of organizing visits to the new private, non-profit universities in Egypt (El Alamein – El Galala – Salman – New Mansoura) to introduce representatives of Charles University to the faculties, scientific and academic programs, and distinguished educational services offered at those universities.

Meanwhile, the Czech ambassador praised cooperation with Ain Shams University to teach Egyptian students the Czech language, in addition to ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian government and the Czech Institute of Egyptology.

He added that Prague is keen to boost its cooperation with Cairo in all fields.

The Charles University president affirmed his keenness on activating cooperation with Egyptian universities, particularly in light of the successful and fruitful cooperation with Ain Shams University with regard to teaching the Czech language.
