Eight New Arabian Oryx Calves Welcomed at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve


Rafha, The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority celebrates the birth of eight Arabian Oryx calves, a species classified as rare. These new arrivals mark a significant step in the authority’s ongoing efforts to preserve and propagate wildlife, promoting biodiversity within the reserve. The authority prioritizes the conservation of endangered species through dedicated breeding centers and reintroduces wildlife back into their natural habitats. This approach aims to restore ecological balance and ensure a thriving natural environment. The Oryx births follow a series of positive developments at the reserve. Recent announcements included the hatching of red-necked ostrich chicks and a rise in the number of Arabian sand gazelles. Construction of a dedicated breeding center for the endangered Asian Houbara is also underway. Spanning a vast 91,500 square kilometers, the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve stands as the second-largest royal reserve in the country. It boasts breathtaking landsc
apes and a rich tapestry of plants and wildlife, solidifying its role as a haven for biodiversity.
