The commander of the air force in the Israeli enemy army, Amir Eshel, threatened today that “in the event of any escalation between Lebanon and the Israeli army in the future, this army will use an unimaginable military force in the war.”

“The Israeli army now has more power than it had before [in the July 2006 war],” he said at a security conference in Herzliya near Tel Aviv.

“What the Air Force has been able to do quantitatively in the 34-day war in Lebanon can be done today in a period of 48 to 60 hours,” the enemy air force commander warned.

He did not present any scenario for any future war with Lebanon or Syria, but he stressed that “Israel should launch a quick and strong strike in the event of a war.”

He pointed out that “threats against the aircraft of the Israeli Air Force on the Lebanese arena will not stop the air force. Operations may be disabled here and there, but this will not stop us.”

Warning the Lebanese, he said “There is a very high potential for collateral damage, and for harming uninvolved persons, and people we do not want to harm.”
