ERDOGAN CALLS ON SWEDEN TO END POLITICAL, FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR “TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed to Sweden’s Prime Minister the need for her country to end political and financial support for “terrorist organizations” and stop arming them, Anadolu Agency reported.

This came in a phone call, during which Erdogan discussed with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson bilateral relations and her country’s request to join NATO.

He stressed Ankara’s aspiration for Sweden to take concrete steps that take into account Turkish concerns about the “PKK” and its extensions in Syria and Iraq.

He also stressed to the Swedish Prime Minister the need for her country to lift the restrictions it imposed on Turkey in the defense industries following the launch of “Operation Peace Spring” in Syria.
