EU chief: situation in Kosovo is dangerous

European Union High Representative Josep Borrell described on Wednesday the current situation in Kosovo as “dangerous and unsustainable.” Borrell made the statement on his twitter account after meeting Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the sidelines of a conference “Globsec 2023” in Slovakian capital Bratislava today to discuss the tensions in the north of Kosovo.

“We need urgent de-escalation and a solution through the Dialogue to return to our work on implementing the Agreement reached,” he added.

On his part, Albin Kurti, stated that he is trying to find a way out of the situation in the north, while adding that he is worried about the measures taken by the US against Kosovo, press agency Kosova reported.

He emphasized that special units of the Kosova Police will continue to stay in the municipalities in the north, “until there are criminal structures in front of them.”
