The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has underscored the importance of a stronger and more comprehensive partnership between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to ensure the prosperity of their peoples.
He delivered these remarks during his speech at the First European Union-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit in Brussels on Wednesday, urging member states from both blocs to collaborate to ensure the summit conveys a message of unity and hope.
Michel highlighted the European side’s willingness to work with the GCC to address global issues, especially within the Middle East, which is beset by serious disruptions and challenges.
He stressed that these crises have exposed vast human suffering, requiring resolute action, highlighting the substantial interconnection of the futures of both regions.
