A successful visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where Export Bahrain had several meetings with various stakeholders which resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Export Bahrain and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation.
The agreement, which seeks to encourage the development of commercial exchange and trade collaboration between the two nations, was signed by Ms. Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq, Chief Executive Officer of Export Bahrain, and Mr. Abdel Fattah Kayed, Chief Executive Officer of Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO).
Under this agreement, Export Bahrain and JEDCO will be the facilitators for commercial and economic contracts, acting as the gateway between businesses in both Bahrain and Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, allowing for new international ventures to flourish through this cooperation in a prosperous and dynamic commercial environment.
This agreement reinforces and affirms the endeavors of the two countries to achieve their common interests and to develop economic, trade, and investment relations, which promise to stimulate economic activity in both countries. Bahraini exports to Jordan during 2022 to date reflect upwards of 80 million Bhd which signifies the importance of our cooperation to ensure the progression and sustainability of trade ties. We see this strategic partnership as an indication of more trade exchange opportunities that ensure the development of sectors and facilitate the flow of products and services between the two countries to achieve the common goal of promoting exports and strengthening mutual commercial relations.
On this occasion, Ms. Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq, Export Bahrain Chief Executive Officer, commented: “This agreement solidifies and affirms our joint efforts in the development and progression of our bilateral trade ties and the advancement of economic and commerce relations, which are a core element of economic progression in both our countries. Our vision for this strategic partnership between Export Bahrain and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation will serve as a steppingstone towards bolstering further economic ties and opportunities and creating seamless exporting services and solutions in both countries” .
Mr. Abdel Fattah Kayed, Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation’s (JEDCO) Chief Executive Officer, commented on the occasion: “The agreement should “lay the foundation” for extensive cooperation between the two entities, benefiting the private sector and strengthening relationships between small and medium-sized businesses.”
