Deputy House Speaker, Elie Ferzli, on Thursday ruled out the birth of a government before the beginning of August.

“The issue is not merely a matter of concessions, but more likely a plan to annul election results and disrupt current tenure to prevent it from moving forward,” Ferzli told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.

“A political coalition government is not suitable at this stage,” he added, declining attempts to use the dire economic reality to undermine the democratic parliamentary system.

As for the Russian initiative vis-a-vis the Syrian refugee dossier, Ferzli expected “positive results”, with emphasis on the role of the international community in this issue.
