A fishing boat with eight Syrians on board sank this morning off the north coastal town of Shekka after it embarked on a clandestine migration trip to Cyprus, National News Agency correspondent reported Monday.

The Lebanese army apprehended three passengers who had managed to swim to the shore, while the destiny of the other five is still unknown.
