French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, on Wednesday confirmed his support for the international conference in support of the Lebanese army, with a view to strengthen state institutions and enable them to face looming threats in Lebanon.

“Three international conferences will be held to enable Lebanon to overcome its political, social and economic crises. French President, Emmanuel Macron, who is keenly concerned vis-a-vis Lebanon issues, plans to visit the country in order to strengthen cooperation and to sign several agreements with Lebanese officials,” the French diplomat said during his meeting with north Lebanon Mouhafez, Ramzi Nohra, at the latter’s office in Tripoli.

Confirming France’s support for Brussels conference on Syrian refugees, Foucher said he understood Lebanon’s request to repatriate refugees due to the difficult economic conditions, hoping they will return home as soon as possible.

In addition, the diplomat called on the Lebanese Parliament to approve projects developed by the French Development Agency.

“We have already lost a sum of 45 thousand euros because of the delay in signing these projects,” he said, finally revealing further efforts in this direction in order to serve the interests of the city Tripoli and North Lebanon.
