Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Gebran Bassil welcomed on Tuesday a delegation from the French- Lebanese Parliamentary Friendship Association presided by the French deputy from the Lebanese origin Henri Gabriel in the presence of the French Ambassador Emanuel Bonne.

Following the visit, Gabriel said that the visit did not aim at interfering in the Lebanese political affairs but to assure the Lebanese that “we are committed to Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence and protection of its borders.”

He pointed out that they had listened to the Lebanese political officials’ analysis and vision to the complicated issues in Lebanon, hoping the cabinet will always be able to perform its duties.

Gabriel hoped the Lebanese parliament would elect a new president, adding that this would help Lebanon to resume calm.
