GCC Secretary General, ACS Troika Members Discuss Cooperation


Paramaribo, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with members of the Troika of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) here, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, and International Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the ACS Rudolfo Sabonge, and Colombian Ambassador to Suriname William Howard, on the sidelines of his participation in the association’s meeting yesterday.

The officials discussed cooperation between the GCC and the ACS, in light of the Joint Action Plan (2023-2027) that the two sides agreed upon in September 2023. They agreed to initiate preliminary talks between the General Secretariats of the GCC and the ACS during the next three months to discuss several topics of common interest, including political consultation, climate change, building bridges of communication, and cultural exchange. They also stressed the common desire to strengthen relations and their aspiration for future projects
that benefit both sides.
