Global Experts Hold 10 Specialized Workshops at Beginning of 3rd Saudi Water Forum

Riyadh: The third Saudi Water Forum commenced here yesterday with the patronage of Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley.

Held until May 1, 2024, under the theme “Water Sustainability… Our Responsibility”, the forum started with 10 scientific workshops dedicated to exploring the future of the water sector, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

The first session featured the “Getting Started with MODFLOW for Groundwater Modeling” session, presented by a speaker from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and two workshops, on “Water Conservation” and “Water Safety Plan”, by Saudi Aramco.

The National Water Company conducted a workshop on future projects and investment prospects, highlighting the company’s future capital projects portfolio, long-term operation and maintenance contracts, and efforts toward localizing industries in the water sector.

The Saudi Irrigation Organization presented a workshop on “Innovative Techniques to Enhance Irrigation Efficiency and A
gricultural Sustainability”, while the Saline Water Conversion Corporation conducted a workshop highlighting the significance of innovation and the challenges associated with investing in emerging technologies. The Saudi Water Partnership Company held a workshop discussing its services and future projects.

UN organizations organized a workshop on “The Role of International Organizations in Developing the Water Sector”, K-Water Corporation hosted a workshop on “Water Treatment and Digital Solutions”, and the Turkish Society for Infrastructure and Trenchless Technologies focused on “Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Management”.
