Government Hospitals Chief inspects new multiple sclerosis centre

A newly-built multiple sclerosis centre is set to open soon in the Governorate of Muharraq.

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) funded the medical facility, which is considered the first specialized and independent centre of its kind to provide treatment to patients suffering from the disease.

Government Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed Mohammed paid a visit to the centre to take of preparations for the opening.

The project is line with vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to develop the health infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain, he said. .

He hailed the directives and close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to support this vital sector.

Dr. Al Ansari commended the efforts of Supreme Council of Health of Health, the Ministry of Works and the Government Hospitals to promote health projects and implement strategic plans.

He also praised the role played by the private sector, being a key partner in supporting national efforts to achieve sustainable develop and carry out Government-run projects.

The center includes 7 outpatient clinics, in addition to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) department, a physiotherapy department, a manual exercise therapy department, private and public treatment rooms, a laboratory and a pharmacy, a scientific research center, a lecture hall, medical warehouses, a service building, administrative offices and parking lots.
